Pepto-Bismol 262.5mg Chewable Tablets. Contains Bismuth subsalicylate. Relief of heartburn, indigestion, nausea and upset stomach and diarrhoea. Always read the label. Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use. Do not take if you are: under 16 years, due to a possible link between salicylates and Reye's syndrome (a very rare but very serious disease); allergic to bismuth subsalicylate, salicylates including aspirin or any of the other ingredients; taking other salicylates including aspirin; pregnant or breast-feeding; or if you have a stomach ulcer, blood clotting disorders or bloody or black stool. Do not use and ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice before use if you: have fever, mucus in your stools, a blood clotting disorder or gout; or if you are taking medicines for thinning the blood (anticoagulants), diabetes, gout, arthritis (methotrexate), or tetracycline antibiotics. If you have diarrhoea, it is important to prevent or treat dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids or taking oral rehydration products, especially if you are frail or elderly.
