Ballet makeup step-by-step tutorial

Eyes 

• The first step in this pretty pastel look is to take a light pink or purple eyeshadow and sweep this across the eyelid using a fluffy eyeshadow brush. 
  
• You can then take a shimmery pearl-coloured eyeshadow and apply this to the inner third of your eyelid and tear duct area to brighten the eye. 
  
• To create a soft and diffused effect, take a clean fluffy brush and blend the two eyeshadow shades into your crease. 
  
• Next, curl your lashes and apply a few coats of lengthening mascara to your top and bottom lashes. If you want seriously wispy lashes, why not apply a pair of fluttery falsies, too? 

Brows 

• To get the bang-on-trend fluffy brow look, start by combing through your brows and finding any areas that you’d like to fill in. 
  
• Using a fine-tipped eyebrow pen or pencil and draw on feathery, hair-like strokes into the sparse areas. 
  
• To set your stage-worthy brows in place, finish by brushing through your brows with a clear eyebrow gel. 

Base 

• When it comes to ballerina makeup, a fresh and dewy base is key. We recommend opting for a light coverage foundation or bb/cc cream. To apply, take a few pumps of product and dot this onto your face.
  
• You can then blend your base product in using either your fingers, a damp beauty sponge or a foundation brush for a more airbrushed finish. 

Cheeks 

• For a true ballet makeup look, you can’t forget blush. Go for any shade that mimics your natural flushed colour – think peach, rose or mauve tones.  
  
• Use a blush brush and apply your chosen blush to the tops of your cheeks and along your cheekbones. 
  
• For an all-over flushed look, don’t be afraid to lightly dust the blush over your temples, too! 

High points of your face 

• As well as looking flushed, you also want to look dewy like a ballerina post-pirouette. So, take a pink or purple-toned highlighter and dust this on the high points of your cheeks using either a fan brush or your fingers. 
  
• To further the glow, take the same-coloured shimmer you placed into your tear duct area, and add it to the tip of your nose and under your brow bone. 

Lips 

• For the final step in your ballerina makeup look, you need to perfect your pout. For a cohesive look, we recommend applying lipstick in a similar shade to your blush. 
  
• To give the illusion of hydrated lips, why not add a high-shine clear gloss?
