Best sun cream to stay protected this summer

Why is sun cream so important?

Painful red skin and awkward tan lines are enough to put a downer on your holiday on their own! However, there are lots more reasons as to why you should never be too far from a bottle of sun cream this summer…  

1. Wearing sun cream every day (yes, even when it’s looking a little cloudy outside) will dramatically decrease your chances of developing skin cancer.
2. Over exposure to the sun is a major cause of premature ageing of your skin, so applying sun cream on a regular basis will help you look younger for longer.
3. If you have young kids, show them that wearing, and regularly reapplying, sun cream is cool!
4. When you’re in the sun, it’s not just burns that you need to be aware of. Wearing sun cream along with other precautions, such as drinking plenty of water, can help ward off heatstroke and heat exhaustion, too. 

The SPF factor protects against UBV rays, which are the ones that burn you. Whereas the PA rating protects you from UVA rays which penetrate further into your skin causing premature ageing. 

The SPF rating is displayed with a number (the higher the better) and the PA rating is shown with a series of + (again, the more the better).

If you need a way to remember it, try ‘UVA for ageing’ and ‘UVB for burning’!
